Heel (the name is an acronym of four Latin words: herba est ex luce, or "Plants come from light") was founded in 1936 by Dr. Hans-Heinrich Reckeweg, MD. Dr. Reckweg, a conventionally trained physician, became an authority on homeopathic remedies. Perhaps his major contribution to Homeopathy was his discovery that the application of combinations of homeopathic remedies produced better results than the application of a single homeopathic remedy.
